Mickleburgh to leave club at end of contract

 

Jaik Mickleburgh will leave Essex CCC when his current contract expires at the end of September.

Having come through the Essex academy, Mickleburgh made his first-class debut in 2008 against Leicestershire and went on to make 101 first-class appearances for the club. The 26-year-old scored 4978 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 29.

He also made 21 List A appearances and took part in 17 T20 matches. His average was 29 and 23 in each competition respectively.

Chris Silverwood thanked Mickleburgh for his service and said: “Jaik has been a terrific servant to the club and contributed throughout his time here.

“I wish him well for the future and thank him for his loyalty over the years.”
