Jesse Ryder has returned to New Zealand after it was mutually agreed his contract would come to an end early.
The Kiwi International suffered a calf strain recently and has since been hampered by the injury. With only Specsavers County Championship games left it was deemed in the best interests of both parties if Ryder returned to his home country early.
Having been with the club for the past three years, Ryder has made contributions throughout his time at The E.C.G both on and off the pitch.
Ryder was an integral cog in Essex’s team, specifically during the 2015 season, as he scored 1,359 runs and took 48 wickets in all formats.
A destructive batsman and wily bowler, Ryder will be fondly remembered by the Essex faithful for his contributions throughout his three-year stint.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Jesse for his services and wish him well for his future endeavours.
