Essex’s Alastair Cook and Lancashire’s Jimmy Anderson have been made available for the season opening Specsavers County Championship fixture on 7 April.
The England stalwarts will face each other as Chris Silverwood’s team begin their Division One campaign at The Cloudfm County Ground.
Tom Westley will also be reunited with England Lions counterparts Haseeb Hameed and Liam Livingstone as the curtain raising fixture sees a host of big names head to Chelmsford.
With membership rates soaring, a large crowd is expected as Essex begin their campaign and Division One challenge.
