After his stunning display of skill and mental strength to help Essex salvage a draw against Lancashire, Dan Lawrence has been nominated for County Championship Division One Player of the Week.
The 19-year-old batted for close to eight hours, facing 333 balls and scoring 141 runs to help Essex face 133 overs and secure a draw.
Showing maturity beyond his years, Lawrence scored his fifth first-class hundred on his first-division debut underlining his undoubted potential.
