The Essex bowling attack enjoyed some well earned success on Day One at the Cooper Associates County Ground and it was a combination of spin and pace, which bowled out Somerset for 209.
Essex’s latest spin option, Simon Harmer took the important wickets of Peter Trego and Steven Davies, along with fellow spinner Ashar Zaidi, who took 3 wickets of his own.
Simon spoke to Essex Cricket TV after play to discuss his thoughts on the opening day and looking forward to Alastair Cook resuming play on Saturday, currently on 39 not out.
