Essex Cricket TV spoke to fan favourite, Ashar Zaidi after play to talk about the Eagles’ opening victory in the NatWest T20 Blast. The all-rounder smashes 35 runs off 25 balls, which included 3 sixes to help Essex to a total of 170 runs. Some tight bowling including 1-17 for Mohammad Amir help the Eagles to cruise to victory in front of another great crowd at The Cloudfm County Ground.
Zaidi enjoyed some time in the middle with a valuable partnership with skipper, Ryan ten Doeschate who he himself earned the Player of the Match award, hitting 56 runs.
Essex Eagles now come up against Glamorgan on Sunday in front of another sell-out crowd hoping to make it two wins in two before a trip to the Kia Oval next week.
