Peter Siddle has been named the DeVines Player of the Month for August after picking up 76% of the votes, beating Varun Chopra, Dan Lawrence and Ryan ten Doeschate to the award.
The Australian was impressive with the ball during August and took a total of 17 wickets, with his most notable displays coming against Somerset and Hampshire in back to back County Championship matches.
He took a 5’fer against Somerset and ended the match with strong figures of 7 for 129. He improved on that the following week, again taking a 5’fer against Hampshire and finishing the match with figures of 7 for 71, guiding Essex to a win inside 3 days.
