Essex County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that Essex bowler, Aaron Beard, has signed a contract extension and will stay with the Club until at least the end of the 2021 season.
The 21-year-old has taken 25 first-class wickets since making his debut against Sri Lanka in 2016. Following a successful winter in Australia, he has returned to Chelmsford and worked his way back into the First Team, taking a career-best 4-23 against Somerset.
Beard is pleased to prolong his time Essex and said: “I’m really thrilled to extend my contract and commit my future to this terrific Club.
“I’m a local lad so playing for Essex really means a lot me. I’ve been in and around the First Team over the last couple of years and the aim is to develop my skills, get into the side and lock down my position in the First Team.”
Essex Head Coach, Anthony McGrath said: “Aaron is a fantastic young bowler and has all the right attributes to develop into a terrific player for us. He is very much part of our plans moving forward and I’m delighted he’s committed his future to the Club.”
