The conclusion to the 2021 season has almost arrived as the team returns home to The Cloudfm County Ground for the final contest in this season’s LV= Insurance County Championship.
The match begins on Tuesday 21 September (10:30am start) against a Northamptonshire side who are coming to Chelmsford off the back of a nail-biting draw against Durham. We go into the match looking to clinch a sixth piece of silverware in 6 seasons and a chance to lift the Division Two trophy in our sights.
Day One will also be a poignant moment for the Club as Ryan ten Doeschate says his farewells to Members and supporters after a 18-year association with the Club. Following the recent announcement that he will be retiring, the Dutchman has also confirmed that he has played his final game for the Club and won’t be featuring in the Northamptonshire fixture.
Ryan spoke to Essex Cricket TV following the announcement to express his thoughts on the decision:
There will be an opportunity for Members and supporters to bid our Club legend ‘goodbye’ during the lunch break and we welcome you to join us for the celebrations.
Tickets for all four days are now on sale online, priced at £13 Adults, £10 Student/Young Adults (18-24) and Juniors (U18s). Members can come along to this match as part of the 2021 Membership and are required to scan their Membership card on the entry gate.
