Woodland Group to support Panathlon Challenge throughout the T20 campaign

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our Principal Partner and front-of-shirt sponsor for the T20 Vitality Blast tournament, Woodland Group.

Our long-standing partnership with the global logistics company began back in 2011 and we are extremely grateful for their generous support over the years.

This will see the continuation of Woodland Group’s sponsorship of our ‘Player of the Match’ for all 7 home fixtures. The chosen player will be kindly presented with a ‘Player of the Match’ trophy made entirely from Bamboo. This sustainable material choice demonstrates the core values of Woodland Group as they strive for every element of their business to be in the best interest of our environment.

Unlike plastic trophies, which can end up in landfills, bamboo trophies are biodegradable and can even be composted.

In addition, this season Woodland Group are once again supporting the national charity, Panathlon ChallengePanathlon gives thousands of young people with disabilities and special needs the opportunity to take part in competitive sports.

Panathlon have over 25 years’ experience providing sporting competitions for a range of age groups including primary, Key Stage 3, secondary and 16+. They provide multisport, swimming, boccia, football, ten-pin bowling, cricket and a range of impairment-specific programmes which take place across 42 English counties and seven unitary areas in Wales.

To raise funds for the charity, Woodland Group are launching their ‘One pound per run’ campaign once again for 2023, in partnership with Essex Cricket. For every run scored by the Essex Men’s First XI during home fixtures, Woodland Group will donate £1 to the charity.

Last year, we helped raise £1,357 for Panathlon and this season we hope to do even better!

Jason Shuttleworth, Sales Director at Woodland Group commented, “Woodland Group is thrilled to celebrate its ongoing partnership with Panthalon, an incredible charity dedicated to making a lasting impact on young people with disabilities and special needs through the power of sport. This continued collaboration exemplifies the shared values and unwavering commitment of both organisations to deliver a brighter future for these young individuals. Our partnership with Essex Cricket is a fantastic springboard allowing us to raise awareness for the all-important work that Panathlon does as well whilst generating valuable donations.”

“It was brilliant to see an amazing amount of money raised last year with Woodland Group and Essex Cricket” said Ashley Iceton, CEO, Panathlon Challenge. “We’d like to say a massive thanks to all parties involved for continuing to support our charity and we are extremely grateful for their sterling support.”
