Essex Women’s fixtures released for 2024

Essex Women will start their 2024 season against Sussex in the ECB County 50-Over competition on Sunday 21 April.

The Eagles will compete on four fronts in the upcoming summer, including defending their title in the London Championship and hosting Kent in the Battle of the Bridge T20 in August.

Their defence starts with a trip to Middlesex on Saturday 08 June, with that fixture sandwiched between a pair of double-headers that open their County T20 campaign.

The first of those sees Kelly Castle’s side take on Kent and Suffolk on Sunday 26 May, before facing Middlesex and Berkshire three weeks later.

The highlight of the season will be welcoming Kent across the Dartford Crossing for the floodlit Battle of the Bridge match at The Cloud County Ground on Wednesday 07 August.

Castle’s charges are set to conclude their season at home to Sussex in the London Championship, whom they defeated in the final game of 2023 to confirm their lifting of last season’s title, a week later.

While some fixtures are yet to be confirmed, there will be a minimum of 17 matches for Essex across 13 days this summer, with three of their seven home fixtures set to be hosted in Chelmsford.
