Noah Thain has been selected in a 14-strong England Under-19 squad for the two upcoming Youth Tests against Sri Lanka.
He has been included in the squad after strong showings so far in the Youth ODIs against the same opposition, with back-to-back half-centuries in the first and second matches of the series.
In the first game at The Cloud County Ground, Thain struck 58 from 69 deliveries, and returned bowling figures of 1/39 from seven overs, taking the wicket of Gayana Weerasinghe.
Yesterday’s second match at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove saw the 19-year-old go even better, hitting 66 from 76 balls as England piled up 360-7 in a fast-scoring 30-run win.
The two Youth Tests will take place at Sir Paul Getty’s Ground in Wormsley, Buckinghamshire from Monday 08 July, and at the College Ground in Cheltenham from Tuesday 16 July.
