Double international recognition for Jordan Cox

Jordan Cox has been named in England’s 17-strong squad to tour Pakistan for three Test matches in October.

Cox, who has scored 918 Vitality County Championship runs at an average of 65.57 for Essex this summer since making the move from Kent, has been rewarded for his outstanding domestic form.

It is the second time Cox has been named in an international squad, after previously being called up for the recently-concluded three-match home series against Sri Lanka this summer.

In further recognition for the 23-year-old, he has also been named in England’s starting XI to take on Australia in the first of three IT20s on Wednesday.

That match, which takes place at Utilita Bowl, Southampton from 6:30pm, will consequently be Cox’s international debut.

He was previously named in the Three Lions’ T20 squad to tour Pakistan in 2022 but did not make an appearance in any of the seven matches.
