Former Leicestershire all-rounder Darren Stevens has been confirmed as an assistant coach in Essex Women’s newly-assembled backroom coaching team.
Stevens, who enjoyed a 25-year career in the English county game, will work under Performance Director Danni Warren and Team Director Andy Tennant as part of a ten-strong contingent of backroom staff.
Joining Warren and Tennant will be four other members of staff transferring from Sunrisers, namely Support Coach Robbie Gunn, Player Liaison Manager Emma Whiteman, Head of Talent Development Grace Melhuish, and Talent Development Manager James Nordin.
In addition to those six members of full-time staff, a further five consultancy and staff support roles have been filled.
Jason Gallian and Carla Rudd will become Batting and Wicket Keeping Consultants, respectively, while Kemsley Robb will become a Support Coach who will also split his time with Essex Men.
The five consultancy briefs are concluded with the appointment of Kelly Castle in a part-time player-coach role as Talent Development Coach, and Cath Dalton as Talent Development Consultant Coach.

The ballot will close at midnight on Monday 04 November and ballot winners will be contacted with a unique link to purchase tickets on Tuesday 05 November.
