Chris Silverwood will take a squad to Canterbury today for a two-day pre-season friendly against Kent.
Pre-season preparation continues with Essex Men facing division two outfit Kent, at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence on Thursday 27 & Friday 28 March.
The match is free to enter, visitors will not require tickets for entry and free parking is available – on a first come first serve basis. Kent are strongly advising to use public transport if you can.
Kent will be live streaming the match and it will be available to watch via the Matchzone and Essex Cricket social media channels.
The timings will be similar to a Rothesay County Championship fixture:

In a pre-arranged agreement between both clubs, The Eagles will bowl all day on Day One and bat all day on Day Two.
Batters will have the opportunity to bat twice, and both teams will bat for the entirety of their allotted day, regardless of how many wickets have been lost.
Essex Men's Rothesay County Championship campaign is almost one week away, as Surrey visit Chelmsford for the first round of fixtures.
