Essex Cricket's Men's and Women's players spread festive cheer this week with a special visit to Broomfield Hospital.
Club Captain Tom Westley and Vice-Captain Sam Cook visited the children's wards alongside teammates Jamie Porter, Charlie Allison and Noah Thain, with Essex Women's players Cordelia Griffith, Sophia Smale and Liberty Heap also in attendance.
The players spent time meeting young patients, chatting with families, and thanking NHS staff for their continued dedication and care. They shared gifts with the children on the ward, with plenty of smiles shared throughout the visit, helping to brighten the festive season for those spending Christmas in hospital.
On the visit, Tom Westley said: "Visiting the children's ward during the festive season really puts things into perspective.
"The courage and positivity shown by the children and their families is incredible, and even if we've been able to bring even a small smile or moment of joy, then it's truly been worthwhile.
"We look forward to this visit every year and the positivity there never fails to inspire us, visiting is just a small way for us to give back to the community."
The annual visit to Broomfield Hospital highlights Essex Cricket's ongoing commitment to supporting our local community and recognising the vital work of the NHS.
Sophia Smale added: "We would like to thank the NHS for allowing us to visit at this especially busy time of the year.
"We want to wish all the children, families and the incredible staff at Broomfield Hospital a peaceful Christmas, and thank them for the amazing work they do, not just at this time of the year but all year round."
