Essex Cricket is proud to celebrate International Women's Day 2026.
This day is an important moment to celebrate and reflect on the achievements of women in sport and to highlight the inspiring players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who continue to drive women's cricket forward in Essex - from grassroots participation to the professional stage.
This year's theme is called 'Give To Gain', emphasizing the power of reciprocity and support. For more information on the 'Give To Gain' theme, please visit the International Women's Day website by clicking here.
The Club continues to strengthen the women's and girl's game through development programmes, school and community partnerships, and of course the Tier 1 Essex Women's team. These culminate to reaffirm the commitment to creating more opportunities for women and girls to get involved in the game.
Essex Cricket's Inclusivity Officer, Bradley Donovan, said: "International Women's Day reminds us of the progress made in championing equality, visibility, and opportunity for women across all areas of life and cricket is no exception.
"The evolution of women’s cricket, from grassroots levels to the international stage, has transformed it into one of the most exciting and inspiring aspects of the sport.
"Here at Essex Cricket, we recognise that supporting and advancing the women's game is essential to our identity and our future. By investing in players, pathways, grassroots and employment opportunities, we are committed to ensuring that women's cricket continues to flourish and that every female across our community can see a place for themselves in our sport."
Essex Cricket invites supporters, clubs and communities across the county to join in celebrating International Women's Day and the incredible contribution women make to our sport.
