Essex Cricket are delighted to announce the signing of South Africa Women’s international Anneke Bosch for the remainder of the 2026 season.
Anneke Elizabeth Bosch has agreed a deal that will see her represent Essex Women for the rest of the 2026 season. The South African batting all-rounder is available for immediate selection for both the Metro Bank One Day Cup and Vitality Blast.
On signing for Essex, Bosch said: “I am really excited and grateful for the opportunity to join Essex.
“I am looking forward to contributing to the team on and off the field as much as I can, learning from the group and embracing the challenge of playing in English conditions.
“I think it will be a great experience playing with and against players of high quality in the competitive English domestic competitions.”
Born in KuGompo City, South Africa, Bosch brings a wealth of international and domestic experience to Essex Women. The right-handed batter made her Women's One Day International debut in 2016 before earning her first Women's T20 International cap in 2019. She has also made four Test appearances since making her debut in the format in 2022.
In 30 ODI appearances, Bosch has scored 500 runs, including three half-centuries, with a high score of 91. In 53 T20I appearances, the 32-year-old has accumulated almost 1,000 runs, including four half-centuries, with a high score of 74 not out.
The South African international also boasts experience in Australian conditions, having represented Brisbane Heat in the 2021 Women's Big Bash League. Bosch also represented South Africa in last year's Women's World Cup in India.
Essex Women’s Head Coach, Stephen Parry added: "We are absolutely thrilled to bring Anneke to Essex for the remainder of the season.
"She is a proven performer on the international stage and her experience, quality and professionalism will be a huge asset to our squad both on and off the field.
"Anneke demonstrated her ability to influence games at the highest level, and her skill set adds further strength and depth to our batting group. As we continue to build momentum throughout the season, having a player of her calibre is a significant boost for the Club.
"We are really excited to welcome her to Chelmsford and look forward to seeing the impact she can make in an Essex shirt."
