Essex Cricket can reveal the shortlist for July’s Player of the Month for the Men’s and Women's teams.
July has seen the conclusion of the Vitality Blast T20 competition with the Men's team making it to quarter finals and the Women's team finishing fifth in Tier 1. Whilst the Women's county competitions take a break, the Men began their Metro Bank One Day Cup Campaign.

CHARLIE BENNETT
Charlie Bennett proving again that he may be young but is still a first-class cricketer. Bennet's bowled in eight games and taken nine wickets. The bowler's best figures come in the match against Derbyshire Falcons with 3-32. His bowling has pitched perfectly to hit middle and leg stump when taking the wickets of Chris Wood and Ollie Pope (respectively).
MATT CRITCHLEY
Matt Critchley has had a brilliant month in both the T20 and ODC competitions. Matt has taken 18 wickets in ten matches. This included two four-wicket hauls. Critchley's best bowling figures this month were 4-16 against Hampshire Hawks. With the bat, Matt has made an impressive 190 runs with a high score of 64.
SHANE SNATER
Shane Snater has taken at least one wicket a game this month. The 10 wickets have consisted of catches and bowls. Snater took three wickets against Hampshire by bowling out three of their batters in his three overs. Shane ended the month on taking the wicket of Hampshire opener Ali Orr who was caught behind. The seamer has also taken five catches in the T20 Blast.
NOAH THAIN
Noah Thain is Essex Men's leading run scorer this month with 371 runs! Noah began the month with a solid 36 off 25 in the Vitality Blast T20. The all-rounder then smashed an incredible 74 in the One Day Cup opener. Noah made his maiden List A century with 102 off 116 in the away fixture against Sussex Sharks at Arundel Castle. Back to back centuries for Thain with 109 off 96 versus Hampshire Men. In the field, Thain has helped dismiss opponents with five catches.
ANNEKE BOSCH
Facing Surrey, Anneke Bosch made her first half-century for Essex. She hit an incredible 84* from 54 balls, including 13 fours and a six. She also narrowly missed out on her second half-century against Durham after she was bowled for 48. In the field, Bosch has taken three catches against Somerset. One of these was at home, catching Griffiths for 4.
EVA GRAY
Eva Gray is Essex Women's top wicket taker for July. The seam bowler has claimed nine wickets over the five T20 matches this month. Eva's best bowling figures of the month came against Warwickshire where she took 3-29. Five of her balls have found the stumps, three caught by teammates and a convincing LBW. Gray has also contributed to the the team's wickets with a catch and run out.
ESMAE MACGREGOR
Esmae MacGregor has been essential in dismissing the opposition batters. This month, the medium-paced bowler has taken six wickets, four of which came in the home match versus Somerset. Esmae has bowled two wickets, pitched it for teammates to take catches and a stumping. MacGregor easily caught Somerset captain Luff out at deep mid on off Smale's bowling.
GRACE SCRIVENS
Grace Scrivens has had a brilliant month with the bat! The skipper has made 237 runs in the four games she has played, averaging 59.25. Scrivens hit her first half century of the month making 73 off 51 at home, then making her second away in Durham with 85 off 64. A total of 8 boundaries this month for Grace. On top of this, Scriven's bowling led to the dismissal of Griffiths when we hosted Somerset.
