Essex Cricket can announce that Grace Scrivens has won the July Player of the Month award.
After securing 32% of the supporters' vote, Scrivens has been named Essex Women's Tiptree Player of the Month following an outstanding month in the Vitality Blast T20.
Essex Women's captain led the side in four of the five matches the team played this season, only missing out against Warwickshire away due to being on international duty. Across the month, Grace has hit an incredible 237 runs off 171 deliveries. The 22-year-old made two half-centuries, the first coming against Somerset at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground where she scored 73 off 51 balls. Her other half-century came on the road in Durham where she smashed 85 off 64 balls.
Scrivens was no stranger to hitting boundaries. She whacked 37 fours to aid in her massive scores. In the field, the off-spinner bowled superbly with her best figures coming in at 1-33 of 3 against Somerset. This wicket was a perfectly pitched ball which was easily caught by her teammates.
