Essex all-rounder Paul Walter has earned his first call up to an England Lions squad.

The England Lions selectors have selected a strong 20-player squad for the two-match T20 series against Sri Lanka this week.

The first match in the series will be played at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground on Friday 11 September with tickets still available from £27 for adults and £10 for juniors. The final match of the series will be played at the County Ground in Beckenham on Sunday 13 September.

The extended squad allows England players to prepare for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which begins with the first Vitality IT20 at the Utilita Bowl on Tuesday 15 September, while also giving opportunity to the next wave of talent in the county game around their Rothesay County Championship commitments.

Jonathan Trott is Head Coach for the series with a coaching staff of Troy Cooley, Graeme Swann, Carl Hopkinson and former Essex player, Ravi Bopara.
