Essex Cricket can announce that Matt Critchley has won the August Player of the Month award.
After securing 61% of the supporters' vote, Critchley has been named Essex Men's WeFinanceAnyCar.com Player of the Month following a consistent spell of performances in the penultimate month of the season.
The 30-year-old featured in four Metro Bank One Day Cup and two Rothesay County Championship matches, scoring one century and two half-centuries for a total of 347 runs at an average of 69.40. His century came against Worcestershire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, scoring 102 not out from 73 balls. His two fifties both came in the Rothesay County Championship against Somerset at Taunton, scoring 50 off 88 balls in the first innings and then 94 off 236 balls in the second innings.
The all-rounder also claimed one wicket and took five catches throughout August.
