
Essex County Cricket Club celebrates its 150th birthday.
On Wednesday 14 January, Essex County Cricket Club marked its 150th birthday. To celebrate this milestone, the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground will be illuminated in red from 4pm to 8pm, visible to passersby.
The day’s celebrations also included an Anniversary Service at Chelmsford Cathedral, followed by a ceremonial reading and proclamation at Shire Hall. These events were attended by former and current players, staff, and members, as well as members of the media, honoring the club’s rich history and contribution to the sport.
