Essex Ability player Ronnie Jackson has returned from India where he joined the England Mixed Disability Men’s Squad.
The England Mixed Disability team took on India’s Mixed Disability squad for a five-match IT20 series. The squad took to the field in Greater Nodia and Jaipur. A late call up, Essex all-rounder Ronnie Jackson joined the team.
Ronnie, an all-rounder, was first called up to the national side in 2015 when the team faced Australia. Eleven years on and Ronnie is still impressing the England coaching staff. This tour will have been an incredible opportunity for Ronnie to work with the national team and gain further experience which he will be able to bring back to Essex ahead of the upcoming season.
On Ronnie’s involvement in the England Squad, County Squad Manager Patrick Ward said “It’s great to have Ronnie in the England squad, he has been a key figure for us for many years now and great to see him being rewarded with a tour slot. It’s an amazing experience for him to travel to India and we look forward to having him use that experience for us in the summer”.
After a disappointing loss in the first game, the squad bounced back and were able to secure a series win after the fourth game where they secured their third match victory. England won the series with the overall series score being a convincing 1-4.
Congratulations to Ronnie and the England Mixed Disability Men’s Squad on the win.
