
Essex Cricket can reveal the shortlist for June’s Player of the Month for the Men’s and Women's teams.
What a month June has been! T20 and County Championship wins for the Men's team and the Women's team progressing to the next round of the T20 County Cup. There have also been stand out performances with 12 half centuries and centuries and some incredible wicket hauls!
We've narrowed the vote down to players we think have had a brilliant month on the field. Take a look at each player reasoning below and then make your decision on who you think should take home the trophy! CHARLIE ALLISON
Charlie Allison has been on fire with the bat in the last five matches he has played. He ended the first block of Vitality Blast T20s with two half centuries in two games, one against Middlesex where he hit 61 off 37 balls and the second against Kent with 74 off 47. Allison, made a further half century against Nottinghamshire where he made 51 off 104 balls. In total, Charlie hit 31 boundaries over the five matches.

CHARLIE BENNETT
Charlie Bennet is
Over the six innings, Charlie has taken nine wickets. The right-arm medium bowler has bowled 64.5 overs for 287 runs with an average economy of 6.32. Included in this is the nine maidens he made. Bennet's best bowling figures come against Leicestershire in their first batting innings with 3-48 off 11 overs.

SIMON HARMER
Simon Harmer has lead the team to two out of three Vitality Blast T20 wins in June, including the derby versus Kent Spitfires. In the county championship, Harmer got his first fifer of the season with four catches and an LBW. In the same match, the off-spinner restricted the opposition with seven maidens and two wicket maidens. Overall, Simon has 13 wickets across the five matches as well as three catches and a run out.

SHANE SNATER
Shane Snater took 11 wickets over the five matches, with at least one per innings he bowled in. Across the two 4-day matches, Shane averaged a 2.47 bowling economy with 14 wickets and three catches. In the same matches he took seven wickets with 2 LBWs, 3 bowled out, 1 caught and bowled and a catch. With the bat this month, Snater made 34 runs and found the boundary three times all coming from 6s.

ARIANA DOWSE
Ariana Dowse has stepped up to the wicket this month! Four wicket involvements for Ariana including two catches and a run out against Gloucester and a stumping versus Lancashire. Dowse has also has a strong month of batting with 74 off 119 balls. The wicket keeper-batter helped secure the win against Gloucestershire with her 26* and a partnership of 68 to get those crucial runs in at the end of the first innings.

JO GARDNER
Jo Gardner is a force to be reckoned with when she has a bat in her hand. The all-rounder took her second half-century of the season against Hampshire with 56 off 75 balls. Jo's also hit 21 boundaries this month, with 19 4s and two 6s. Jo took a wicket in the T20 County Cup match where she pitched the ball perfectly to force Ahearne to hit the ball straight to Johnson. Gardner has also taken five catches off her teammate's bowling.

EVA GRAY
Eva Gray has not only had some brilliant moments in the past month but also led the team in three matches in Scriven's absence. Gray began her captaincy this year with a convincing win against Gloucester where she hit 25*. The bowler has taken six wickets across the seven games. This includes setting up Kate Cross for a catch. Eva took two catches and made a run out to help restrict the opposition making further runs.

LIBERTY HEAP
Liberty Heap has had lots of stand out moments this month. It only took three games to get her first half-century of the season. Liberty hit 75 off 63 balls in front of a home crowd against Hampshire. She also was agonisingly close to her second half-century with 46 runs versus The Blaze. Overall, Heap scored 161 off 145 balls with 23 boundaries. To top this off, Heap has taken home two player of the match trophies for her batting skill.
