Essex Men's Simon Harmer has been named South Africa's Test Player of the Year.
On Friday, Cricket South Africa hosted the 2026 CSA Awards – an evening dedicated to honouring the players, coaches, teams and moments that defined the year. The awards recognise the stars who inspired the nation and elevated South African cricket on the global stage.
Among the winners was Essex Cricket's Simon Harmer, who was named Test Player of the Year following a brilliant return to Test cricket for the Proteas. His comeback included standout series against Pakistan and India over the winter, during which he claimed an incredible 30 wickets in four matches at an average of 14.30. His best figures of 6-37 came against India.
Congratulations, Harmy!
