Essex Cricket can announce that Noah Thain has won the July Player of the Month award.
After securing 68% of the supporters' vote, Thain has been named Essex Men's WeFinanceAnyCar.com Player of the Month following a brilliant month of performances, highlighted by an incredible display of batting in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
The 21-year-old featured in eight matches throughout July and scored 371 runs from 411 balls across six innings. Thain passed fifty against Middlesex at Radlett in the opening match of the 50-over campaign, scoring 74 off 93 balls, before following it up with two centuries. His first professional century came against Sussex at Arundel, where he scored 102 off 116 balls, before he struck 109 off 96 balls against Hampshire at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground.
In total, Noah scored 49 fours and three sixes to help him on the way to the top of the run-scorers list for the 2026 Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign. An important contributor in the field too, Thain claimed five catches across the month, either standing at first slip or fielding in the cover, mid-on or mid-off regions.
