
Essex Cricket can announce that George Bell has won the September Player of the Month award.
Following an impressive start to his loan at Essex, George Bell has been named Essex Men's WeFinanceAnyCar.com Player of the Month in the final month of the season.
George hit a total of 244 runs in September, smashing 31 fours and 1 six. In his first match named in the starting XI, wicket-keeper batter Bell hit an unbeaten half-century of 64 runs off 118 balls. Just one match later, the 23-year-old whacked his second half-century in just 66 deliveries and ended the innings on 61 not out off 84 balls. Three half-centuries in a row, Bell's streak couldn't be broken! George ended the season with a magnificent 66 runs off 58 balls, including 11 fours.
In the field, George made his first wicket contribution when he caught Sussex's Dom Goodman out for six off Akhter's bowling. Bell then found took four further catches against Glamorgan where he helped dismiss openers ul Hassan, Tribe and Crane off Zum Akhter's bowling, before taking the catch of Cooke down off-side from Sam Cook's bowling.
