Charlie Allison and Jodi Grewcock have been nominated for the PCA's Young Men's and Women's Player of the Year awards.
The shortlists for the 2026 PCA Awards in partnership with Toyota have been revealed, with players across England & Wales voting for the individual performers who have impressed them most over the last 12 months.
Both 21-year-olds have been prominent members of the Essex Men’s and Women’s squads, showcasing their talents across all formats throughout the 2026 season, and have been shortlisted for the PCA’s Young Player of the Year awards.
Allison is joined on the Toyota PCA Men’s Young Player of the Year shortlist by England and Hampshire’s Sonny Baker and Middlesex’s Naavya Sharma.
The right-handed batter scored 1,137 runs across all formats this season, including a career-best 114 in the Rothesay County Championship and 346 runs in the Vitality Blast at an average of 43.25, with five fifties.
On his nomination, Charlie said: "It means so much for me to be nominated for the PCA's Young Men's Player of the Year. Thank you to all my team mates and peers who voted for me, see you there at the PCA Awards."
For the Toyota PCA Women’s Young Player of the Year award, Grewcock is joined by Surrey’s Tilly Corteen-Coleman and The Blaze bowler Charley Phillips.
Grewcock made her international debut for England this summer, with the 21-year-old scoring 871 runs in domestic cricket and taking 14 wickets. She also registered her maiden professional century, hitting an unbeaten 120 in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Team-mate and Essex Women's batter, Flo Miller, presented Jodi with the shortlist invitation and said: "I think I speak for everyone when I say that this doesn't come as a surprise to us. You've been growing over the past couple of years and this year you've really shown what you can do – it's nice to see you being recognised for that.
"You have been such a consistent performer week in, week out. This is so well deserved, whether you win it or not. We are all so proud of you and you should be really proud of yourself."
