Player Bio

Abtaha Mahin Maqsood, born in Glasgow, Scotland, is a Scottish international leg-spinner who made her professional debut for ‘The Scots’ in 2018, playing a T20I against Uganda.

Since then, Maqsood has collected over 78 wickets in 13 Women’s ODIs and T20Is combined. Her journey with the Scotland national team began at the age of just 12 when she played for the Under 17s in 2013.

Maqsood has represented the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, Middlesex and most recently the Sunrisers in the former domestic structure.

In the 2025 domestic season, Maqsood featured in 27 matches for Essex Women, taking 22 wickets with her tricky leg-spin.
