

Born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, Mackenzie William Jones signed a rookie contract with the Club ahead of the 2025 season.
The tall right-arm seam bowler began his journey with Essex as an Under 12 in 2017 before joining the Elite Players Programme in 2019 and then the Academy in 2023.
Jones has become a regular feature in the Scotland Men’s squad after playing for their Under 19s in the World Cup of 2024. From the three senior international matches he has played since the Under 19s, Jones has taken five wickets, including 3-55 against Nepal.
Mackenzie made his Essex first-class debut on 22 June 2025 against Hampshire at Chelmsford where he took 1-57 from 13 overs. A month later, Jones would make his T20 debut, also against Hampshire at Chelmsford, where he claimed 2-36.
