Born in Ormsirk, Lancashire, Albert 'Bertie' Edward Linnell is the Lead Physiotherapist for the Essex Men's first team.
Bertie Linnell joined Essex Cricket in 2023 as the Second XI Physiotherapist and was promoted to Lead Physiotherapist in 2025. Prior to his time with Essex, Linnell served as a Physiotherapist for the Loughborough University Men’s Rugby team.
As part of the Club’s medical team, Bertie works closely with Head of Sports Science & Medical Services, Harry McQueen, Second XI and Academy Physiotherapist, Pavel Samsonov, and Essex Women’s Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach, Rosie Lowles.
