Player Bio

Catherine Clare Dalton, born in Leyton, Greater London, is a coaching consultant for Essex Women, working closely with Performance Director Danni Warren, the Head Coach and the rest of the coaching unit.

A product of Essex County Cricket Club, Cath made her debut for Essex Women in 2007 against Northamptonshire Women. After taking 4-21 on debut, Dalton distinguished herself as a right-handed batter and right-arm fast bowler.

In 48 appearances for Essex Women, Cath scored over 800 runs which included four half-centuries and one century – her best of 109 came against rivals Kent in 2023. Between 2012-2018, Dalton represented Middlesex Women and between 2015-2016 the Irish domestic outfit Typhoons.

In 2015, Dalton took up an Irish citizenship and went onto represent Ireland Women’s Cricket in both ODI and T20I formats. In total, Dalton has chalked up 3999 career runs, including 15 half centuries and 4 centuries with a high score of 139*.

Beyond her playing credentials, Cath has made major strides in coaching, notably becoming the first female bowling coach appointed by a Men’s franchise when she joined Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League in October 2023.
