Born in Colchester, Essex, Esmae Isabel MacGregor is one of Essex’s very own who made her T20 debut aged just 16 against Sussex in April 2021.
The right-arm seam bowler had an incredible debut season for the professional Essex Women’s side in 2025 as she took a total of 40 wickets across 28 fixtures in all competitions. In eleven Blast matches in the 2025 campaign, MacGregor took 21 wickets, the most across all counties throughout the group-stage, at a staggering average of 13.38 with best figures of 4-8.
Her performances throughout the season deservedly earned her a place in the 2025 Hundred competition with the Manchester Originals as well as being named the Essex Women's Young Player of the Year and Women's Players' Player of the Year.
