Born on the Isle of Wight, Jo Lynda Gardner came through the Northamptonshire pathway before going on to play for Warwickshire as well as Loughborough Lightning in the old Kia Super League.
The right-handed powerful batter offers destructive clean striking in the middle order but is also a handy right-arm off-spin option. Her performances throughout recent years saw her earn contracts to play for the Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets in The Hundred.
In 34 appearances for Essex Women in all competitions in 2025, Gardner scored 575 runs and took 15 wickets.
