

Born in Margate, Kent, Jordan Matthew Cox signed for Essex from neighbouring county Kent on a three-year deal ahead of the 2024 season.
The wicket-keeper batter has quickly become a key figure in the Essex squad and upon the conclusion of the 2025 season has racked up eight centuries for the Club across red and white-ball tournaments. His performances for Essex has seen him called up to both the England Men’s Test and white-ball squads.
Jordan produced one of the finest innings seen at Chelmsford, smashing 139* from just 60 balls in the 2025 Vitality Blast group stage as Essex defeated Hampshire by four wickets, chasing down the visitors’ total of 220 with four balls to spare. This performance won him the Performance of the Year award at the Essex Cricket 2025 Awards Gala.
The right-handed batter was awarded his County Cap in June 2025, becoming the 169th Essex player to receive this honour and at the 2025 Professional Cricketers’ Association Awards, Cox was crowned the PCA Player of the Year whilst being named in the PCA Team of the Year as well.
