Wagner scoops two awards at New Zealand Cricket awards ahead of Essex stint

Incoming overseas star Neil Wagner scooped two gongs at the New Zealand Cricket awards after an impressive year of Test Cricket.

The 31-year-old played in 13 out of 14 Tests during the award period taking 56 wickets, and was adjudged the Test player of the year, and also won the Winsor Cup for first-class bowling.

During the home summer, Wagner became the second-fastest New Zealand bowler, after Richard Hadlee, to 100 Test wickets.

The fast bowler links up with the Essex squad in the coming days and will look to build on an outstanding year with ball in hand.

Wagner will go straight into the squad for the match against his former side Lancashire and you can buy tickets here.
