Essex Head of Athlete Development, Chris Clarke-Irons, will join the England medical team for the ODI series against Australia.
The Essex Lead Physiotherapist will fly out to Australia on 2 January with former Essex Head Coach, Chris Silverwood.
Clarke-Irons has previously worked on the ECB Pace Programme and will work alongside the ECB Team Physiotherapist for the duration of the ODI series.
Clarke-IronsĀ is excited to be joining up with England and said: “This a great opportunity to broaden my horizons and work alongside the England backroom staff.
“I am very fortunate to have the chance to be involved with the ODI squad around the closing stages of the Ashes Tour and then travel around Australia for the duration of the ODI series.
“The experience will only continue to benefit Essex as I will be able to bring back new ideas and methods to the squad upon my return and implement them in the teams pre-season training.
“It is further recognition of the good work we are doing at Essex and it will be nice to link back up with Chris again and work with him and all the coaching staff.”
