Essex will play Durham in the Second XI Championship Final next month, with both teams having won their respective divisions.
Essex topped the Southern Division whilst Durham ran away with the Northern Division, meaning the sides will once again face off having met at T20 Finals Day earlier this month.
Essex won that fixture by 10 wickets, with Paul Walter smashing 37 off just 12 balls and Sam Cook taking 3 wickets for 21 runs, but next month’s fixture is expected to be a lot closer.
The sides will meet at Emirates Riverside on 4 September with the match scheduled to start at 10:30AM.
