Simon Harmer will be competing for The Jozi Stars in The Mzansi Super League which gets up and running in South Africa next month.
The South-African spinner is among the Kolpak players participating in the T20 competition and will join up with Chris Gayle, who has been selected as the team’s International player, as well as Dane Vilas, Rassie van der Dussen and Daniel Christian.
Harmer was in lethal form for Essex all season and picked up 71 wickets across all formats (57 in the Specsavers County Championship and 7 apiece in the Royal London One-Day Cup and the Vitality Blast).
His performances earned him three awards at the End of Season Gala Dinner, including Player of the Year (sponsored by DeVines Accountants), Players’ Player of the Year and the Bowler of the Year.
