Essex bowler Sam Cook, who sustained a side strain during the County Championship fixture against Hampshire last week, is set to be out of action for up to six weeks.
Essex Head Coach Anthony McGrath said: “Sam is going to be a big miss for us over the next month and a half.
“He’s an important part of our bowling attack, but we’re lucky to have a really talented squad with players ready to step up and fill his shoes.”
