Essex County Cricket Club can today confirm that Matt Coles’ loan deal at Northamptonshire has been extended by a further month.
He will be available to play in today’s Specsavers County Championship Division Two match against Derbyshire at Queen’s Park, as well as the first seven games of Northants Steelbacks’ Vitality Blast campaign.
The 29-year-old has featured in three matches for Northamptonshire so far and has taken six first-class wickets, whilst he is also averaging 34.50 with the bat.
On the extension, Coles said: “I’m loving my time at Northants so it made sense for me to stay on for another month.
“I’ve settled in well and all the lads have made me feel really welcome, and I’m excited about the next four week’s worth of cricket with the Vitality Blast starting in a week or so.”
