The Essex Women’s First Team will be competing once again in a virtual London race this weekend.
Essex, Middlesex, Kent and Surrey players will be dusting off their running shoes again but this time they are looking to post their best 2km time. To reflect what would have been a time where the teams would be looking at their T20 exhibition matches, Kent will be playing Essex in the virtual ‘Battle of the Bridge’ whilst Middlesex and Surrey fight it out for the virtual London Cup. The fastest combined team time wins, and next weekend will see a Final and third-place playoff between the winners and losers of each game.
Alongside the 12 players, each team has the option of asking a celebrity runner to join them, with Essex’s celebrity being announced along with the team sheet later today!
