Essex Cricket have welcomed the Government’s Roadmap proposal, which paves the way for spectators to return to The Cloudfm County Ground during the 2021 season.
Following the Prime Minister’s press conference on Monday, John Faragher, Executive Chairman at Essex Cricket, said: “Like the entire nation, we’ve been waiting patiently for some encouraging news, and what we were told feels like a positive step for us as a Club, for our Members and supporters and for the country.
“Now that the Prime Minister has confirmed fans should be able to attend sporting events from Monday 17 May, we can push on with our plans and preparations to welcome our faithful Members and supporters back to Chelmsford at the earliest possible date.
“It gives us something to aim for. Of course, Monday 17 May is only a provisional date and a lot could change between now and then. If we have learnt anything from the past year, it’s that things can change at the drop of a hat. Nevertheless, rest assured that we are working hard on our plans to welcome back as many spectators as safely as possible in line with the Government’s COVID-19 restrictions.
“I know there are going to be plenty of questions about our plans and procedures moving forward, and we’ll be communicating to Members and ticket buyers with further information in the coming weeks.
“However, Members are invited to a Members’ Forum on Thursday (25 February) to discuss this in further detail and provide as much information as we can at this stage.”
Don’t forget that you can now purchase your Membership for the 2021 campaign at our Early Bird prices, which start from as little as £70,40 for Students/Young Adults, £203.50 for Adults and £158.40 for Seniors.
