Essex County Cricket Club are pleased to announce that Essex Head Coach, Anthony McGrath, as well as top-order batsman, Dan Lawrence, have returned to the Essex set up following England’s ODI series with Pakistan.
McGrath originally joined the England coaching staff as cover for both the ODI series as well as the T20 series, following a number of positive COVID-19 tests from within the England camp which enforced a number of players and coaches to isolate.
He was scheduled to return to Essex coaching duties for the Royal London Cup fixture with Hampshire on 22 July at The Ageas Bowl, but has come back early and will be back in the dugout for tomorrow’s Vitality Blast clash with Hants.
Lawrence has also returned to Chelmsford following his call-up to the England squad. He recently celebrated his 24th birthday and will be available for selection for tomorrow’s T20 clash with Hampshire.
