Chelmsford to host England & Sri Lanka U19

The Cloud County Ground will host more international cricket this year, with the England U19 side facing Sri Lanka in a four-day Test match on 21-24 August 2022.

The England U19s recently finished as Runners-up in the 2022 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, which took place in the West Indies during January and February.

Tom Prest’s side will now face off with Sri Lanka in a five-game series, made up of two Test matches and three ODIs.

John Stephenson, Essex Cricket Chief Executive & Interim Chair, said: “We’re really pleased to be given the chance to host more international cricket here at The Cloud County Ground.

“Both sides were extremely impressive in the U19 World Cup that took place earlier this month and the players on show are the future of our great game.

“International cricket is always well supported at Chelmsford, and I hope that will still be the case when we host these upcoming stars in August this year.”
