We are now just over two weeks away from the start of the 2022 campaign and the squad are building up to the opener against Kent with two pre-season friendlies.
Anthony McGrath’s men returned home from the pre-tour of Abu Dhabi last week and head into a two-day intra-squad match on Wednesday 23 – Thursday 24 March at The Cloud County Ground.
The red-ball contest will now begin at 10:30am with standard County Championship match timings. There will be three two-hour sessions scheduled each day with breaks for lunch and tea.
Spectators are welcome to watch and entry will be free of charge on both days. Gates will be open from 10am.
Please note that only the Member areas of the ground will be open for all spectators, including the Doug Insole Pavilion/Benches and Tom Pearce Stand.
There will also be a limited snack and drink refreshments available from the Doug Insole Pavilion over the course of the two days.
Parking will not be available at The Cloud County Ground and Meteor Way is not open to Members. Pay & display parking is available in the vicinity of the ground, located at the High Chelmer multi-storey and George Street which is adjacent to Moulsham Street.
The Essex Cricket Store and Membership & Ticketing Office will also be open on both days of the fixture.

Please note that this fixture will not be streamed on Essex Cricket TV whilst testing takes place ahead of the new season.
