Vote for your June DeVines Player of the Month

 

Cast your vote for the DeVines Player of the Month for June. This period saw the Essex team fight for a place in this season’s Vitality Blast Quarter Final, winning five out of six home games.

As the month opened, Michael Pepper shone during a second successive Tuesday night as Essex Eagles thrashed Kent Spitfires by seven wickets in the Vitality Blast tournament. At the Middlesex game, Paul Walter clocked up 58 as the Eagles set 187, before Matt Critchley took his Blast tally to 12 scalps with three for 22 and Sam Cook returned a magnificent three for 18; Middlesex bowled out for 125 to extend their losing run to five defeats.

Michael Pepper continued his Vitality Blast love affair with The Cloud County Ground, achieving a career best 86* in the battle against Somerset on Sunday 19 June. Batter Pepper also helped condemn Surrey to a second straight loss as the month drew to a close.

Sam Cook

Cook took a total of 9 wickets across the month, helping to secure the Eagles’ efforts for a place in the Quarter Final.

Matt Critchley

All-rounder Matt Critchley was an integral part of the momentum this month, scoring 113 runs from 95 balls and taking 5 wickets from the opposition.

Michael Pepper

Pepper had a blinder of a month, scoring a total of 268 runs including a whopping 27 fours and 14 sixes.

Paul Walter

Walter was not too far behind his team mate, with 260 runs in the bank for June.
