Watch: Pakistan Junior League Final, Friday 21 Oct, 2pm

 

Luc Benkenstein’s Gwadar Sharks have reached the Final of the Pakistan Junior League, a first-of-its-kind tournament involving local and overseas age-group cricketers.

The tournament comprises of six teams, each mentored by a former international cricketer, who play five group stage fixtures before the competition progresses into the elimination stages.

Gwadar Sharks finished top of the table after the group stages with four victories from five games and then defeated Bahawalpur Royals in a Qualifier on Tuesday 18 October.

They will face the Royals again in the Final after they bounced back from defeat to Benkenstein’s side in the Qualifier to win the second Qualifier.

Benkenstein has been in fine form at the top of the order for the Sharks, scoring 226 runs at an average of 37.67 and strike rate of 156.94 with a high score of 74. He has scored one other half-century, a blistering 71 in the Qualifier to see Gwadar Sharks through to the Final.

The Final between Gwadar Sharks and Bahawalpur Royals will get underway at 2pm BST on Friday 21 October. The game will be live-streamed via the Pakistan Junior League website and can be watched below.
