Waltham come out on top in the Essex Indoor Cricket Competition

Finals Day for the Essex Indoor Cricket competition was held on Saturday (18 February) at The Allen Ford Graham Gooch Cricket Centre with the semi-finals and final taking place on the same day.

Once again Waltham Cricket Club won for the second year running, defeating Hadleigh & Thundersley. The other semi-finalists who participated were Harlow CC and Springfield CC.

In the first semi-final, Springfield scored 108-2 and Hadleigh & Thundersley 111-3, the latter winning by 3 wickets. In the second semi-final, Waltham came out as winners by 4 wickets after scoring 121-2 against Harlow who reached 120-5.

The final was unfortunately rather one-sided with Waltham scoring a massive 185-2. Despite a valiant effort by Hadleigh and Thundersley, they finished on 69 all out, leaving Waltham the winners by 116 runs.

Waltham will now represent Essex in the regional section of the competition which will take place on March 12 at Beckenham CC.
